If Oprah says it, it must be true...

Remember that Oprah show where it came out that it's not good to wait to get pregnant?!?

You know the one!! It was probably on sometime back in 2002.

At that time I was not really an Oprah watcher but for some reason I was home from work that day and watched it. Same happened with various friends. I swear my phone was ringing off the hook. Even my mother called me! Although I lived 3 provinces away and we talked weekly my mother never called me unless there was bad news.

All were suddenly worried that their eggs would be gone and they would not be able to have children!

By that point we had been throwing around the idea to start a family. Cam came up with it first. One night he was walking into the bathroom about to brush his teeth before he went to bed.

Cam; "I think we're ready for children"
...and then he walked into the bathroom and shut the door.

My mother had 5 children in 4 years (twins did not make it a year and a half after me, one was a stillborn and the other only lived a couple of days).

I didn't think I would have any problems...

After the miscarriage we waited the 3 months that the doctors tell you too. By that time we had decided that we would be moving back to Canada. At the time we were in that States. We had moved to the South when we were 5.5 months pregnant with our son. Although a nice place to visit and we made many great friends there, it was not for us.

As we were still in the bubble of it being easy to get pregnant we thought that it would be fine to wait.

By the summer, with no hits on our house and outlook for a job transfer being slim we decided to start trying again.

...and so became the suxiest sux of suxdom time!!!

  1. Hi, New Friend.

I'm here from LFCA. I too am experiencing SIF. And I too have an "only" who was born in 2004. I am longing for a sibling for her...and am FREAKING out as she (and I) get older. I don't want the age gap to be too large between my daughter and a sibling.

Adding you to my blog roll and looking forward to sharing the journey with you. :)
